It was not only houses on stilts that stood in the village near the Oak Pho Su Station. There were also livestock sheds. I was walking through the village, and before I knew it, I was in front of a pigsty.
In contrast to the quiet, relaxed residents, the pigs were noisy. As I approached the pigsty, the pigs inside gathered at the fence and began to bleat and squeal. Their responsiveness is very different from that of the villagers, who are indifferent to me. The pigs are more curious than the villagers. Perhaps they just mistook me for someone who feeds them. Not remembering the person who feeds you every day is a matter of life and death.
One of the pigs perched on the other side of the fence, poking its nose through the gap and staring at me. His eyes looked unexpectedly sad. It was as if it was expecting something more than food from me. But unfortunately, there was nothing I could do to help.
