Parade Of Carrying Shrines

Parade of carrying shrines

A festival was held in the street

Shot in the city of Machiya, Tokyo.

The street was closed to vehicular traffic. And it was filled with people. Many people were wearing a Happi coat. It was a festival day in this town. The central players on the carriage way were carrying shrines on that day. Many carrying shrines were parading down the street.

I was watching the parade while standing by the roadside. In the meantime, I found a father holding his little daughter. In contrast to the atmosphere of the festival, the girl frowned. She seemed not to be able to enjoy this festival. Maybe, she was afraid of the crowd.
