When I got out of the exit at Jakarta Kota Station, there were many people going right and left. People who get off the train and head somewhere else are prowling around. Grab and Gojek vehicles are parked while waiting for customers. The food stalls were also lined up to aim vigilantly at those who were hungry. The busyness in front of the station must be confusing to those who are unfamiliar with it.
A short walk from here is a square called Fatahillah Square, which was built during the Dutch occupation. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jakarta and is visited by many Indonesians as well as tourists from abroad. That's why there are many people heading to the square from Jakarta Kota station. That's what's causing a bit of chaos.
The young girl in the photo was standing in front of such a station. Although her mother was standing right beside her, she seemed a little confused about where the adults were busily moving. The girl's brow wrinkled, her hand over her mouth, and she squirmed. It was as if he was praying that this swishing would subside as soon as possible.
