I was waiting at the stoplights. And I could also see people waiting at stoplights on the opposite side of the street. A big sightseeing map was hung on the wall behind them. And their shadows fell down on the wall.
The name of this area is Sian-Bashi. It was one of the biggest entertainment districts of this city. 'Bash' means bridge in Japanese. Yet there were no bridges around here. The river became a concrete culvert.
