The right hand of the statue pointed at the sky. And the sun was shining strongly in the air. The statue was a symbol of the park, which was built on a low hill near the ground zero.
It was August 9th, 1945, the atomic bomb blasted above this city. It emitted a flash of light like the sun. And it destroyed this city in the wink of an eye. The right hand represented the threat what had come down from the sky on that day.
