An older woman was sitting alone on the side of a road in Pyay. She was holding a bamboo stick in her hand. She was not doing anything, but just gazing idly at the traffic, so I guessed she was a little tired and was resting. I asked the older woman if I could take her picture, and she gladly allowed me to do so.
Of course, I do not speak Myanmar, and the older woman does not understand English, let alone Japanese. We communicated through body language. Many people think I am fluent in English when I say I have traveled to many countries, but there are many people in the world who do not understand English. The same is true in Japan. I wonder how many people can communicate in English without any difficulty. On the other hand, body language is universal. Body language is the same in all countries.
