As soon as you leave Nishikoyama station, you will see the entrance to a narrow alley. The street stretches straight ahead, with small shops lined up shoulder to shoulder on either side. This is a shopping area with strong local roots. There are a few franchises, but most of the stores are independently owned and operated, each with its own personality.
The store in the photo was unexpectedly located at the end of the long shopping street. It is divided into several buildings, but upon closer inspection, they all appear to be the same store. The sign reads "Student Clothing Store". Perhaps they have separate buildings for each type of merchandise. It must be quite a feat for a store to occupy such a large area and operate out of several buildings in the shopping district.
There were red banners hanging from the buildings, and the bold word "Sale" beckoned passersby. The sale was just going on.
