I was walking through a residential area in Jakarta. Not many passersby were walking by, and many of the shops were closed. There wasn't a hint of a lively reunion leaking out of the houses lining both sides of the street. There was an air of calm in the residential area on Sunday.
The shop in this photo was closed like many others. I didn't know what the shop sold. But there was a table which would normally be laying out some kind of product in front of the door. And a small table was put on it upside down. No matter how you looked at it, it looked like it's closed for business. The door behind the table was closed tightly.
However, what was a bit strange was that even though the restaurant was not open, the shop keeper was there. I said she was there, but she was just sleeping on a chair placed behind the table. I thought there would be a more comfortable place to sleep, but this woman had chosen a chair by the roadside. The woman slept soundly on the hard looking chair. Perhaps the place where she spent a lot of time might be the most comfortable place.
