I was walking along the riverfront. Then I saw a torii gate on the other side of the river. A large torii stood in front of it and a slightly smaller one beyond it. It was the entrance to a historical shrine called Sendai-inari Jinja Shrine, founded in 934. The main building of the shrine is probably located on the hill behind them.
The hill on which the shrine is located is densely covered with trees. Even though the area has been developed, the shrine's grove has been preserved. In this way, nature often remains on the grounds of shrines and temples. In terms of environmental preservation, shrines and temples have played an unexpectedly large role.
As I watched, a bicycle appeared. But he passed by in a flash, as if he didn't even know there was a shrine there. As the bike sped away, there was nothing in my field of vision that was moving.
