The children, with their keen eyesight, did not miss my camera. They gathered around him as if they were waiting for that moment. This was the case when I pointed my camera at a young man sitting on the side of the road. As soon as I held up my camera, the children gathered around him, and what was intended to be a portrait of the young man turned out to be a group photo of the young man and the children. The young man suddenly surrounded by children also looked bewildered.
It is understandable that they gather together for the fun of being photographed. What I don't understand, however, are the expressions on their faces after they had gathered. Why is it that they want to be photographed, but when the time comes to take their picture, they look a little scared rather than smiling? I think about it, but I can't quite figure it out. Is it because they are nervous because it is a rare experience?
