An art museum stands close to Zenko-ji Temple. It is the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum. For me, coming here was a kind of revenge. The museum houses the Higashiyama Kaii Gallery, which houses the works of Higashiyama Kaii, a Japanese painter who liked to paint the landscapes of Nagano Prefecture, and this is the target of my revenge. The revenge is quite simple. I visited the Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Museum in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, and was unable to see most of Higashiyama Kaii's works, contrary to my expectations, so I wanted to see as much of his work as possible.
In contrast to the Higashiyama Kaii Memorial Museum, which was built on a plot of land next to his house and had very few works in its collection, the Higashiyama Kaii Gallery in Nagano has a large collection of Higashiyama's works. There are more than 970 works in the museum's collection. The museum is spacious and not many visitors are present, so visitors can take their time to appreciate the works. Not only did I see many works, but I was also satisfied to see 'Music of Green', which is a work by Higashiyama Kaii. Walking along the corridor on the second floor of the main building, gently bathed in sunlight, I realised that my revenge had worked.
