I left the main street where many people were walking and entered a side street. The alley stretched through a dense residential area. I had looked at a map of central Yangon and found a monastery in a residential area here, so I decided to visit it.
Although it looked easy to reach the monastery on the map, it was actually a labyrinth of alleys and lanes, and it was difficult to find the monastery I wanted. The residential area was quiet on weekends, as if hiding the monastery from me. As I walked along, I eventually came to a house. There was no door at the entrance, and I could see the inside of the house from the outside.
There was a table like a tea table in the dimly lit room, and people were sitting around the table. It seemed that they were having a late breakfast. On the other hand, a dog was lying down at the entrance. Unfortunately, the dog was not allowed to join the breakfast circle. I don't know whether he was disappointed to be left out of the group or not, but he was sleeping lazily with his stomach facing me.
