In one corner of the Yamuliao Market, there was a place where stands for snacks were lined up, almost like a food court. It was morning time, and many locals were enjoying their breakfast there. Watching the lively conversation and the steam rising from the food, I naturally became hungry as well. I found myself making my way to one of the stands, determined to get something to eat.
But when I entered the stand, I was confronted with a language barrier. The staff spoke neither Japanese nor English, and the menu was written entirely in the local language. I had no idea what to order or how to order it.
As I was at a loss, I decided to look around at the tables around me and observe what the locals were eating. What caught my eye was a bowl of noodles. I had no idea what they tasted like, but I decided that noodles would be fine.
I gestured to the waitress and asked for the same thing as those around me. Even though I didn't understand the language, I still enjoyed tasting the local food. I was looking forward to seeing what kind of noodle dishes would be served, and felt myself blending into the atmosphere of the local food court.
