Alleys appear in Shinjuku as well, just a short distance from busy streets. When I am on my way to somewhere, I often walk across alleys because I do not like to walk along main streets. This time was no different. Tall buildings lined both sides of the narrow street.
A man in a jacket stopped at the exit of the alley. He seemed to be checking his messages on his cell phone because he was looking at his hand. It was a lonely street corner with not many people around. But it is more fun to walk in such a lonely alley than in a noisy street.
