Six columns in the photo were the part of the Temple of Jupiter which was devoted to 'Baal', one of the deities believed in Canaan. Although the temple was huge at the time of the construction, it was almost broken unfortunately. Yet the architecture was considerably-great. The original number of Jupiter columns was 54. Only 6 columns remained now. And the wreckages of the temple were scattered around. The lion was one of them.
