Bawbawgyi Paya

Bawbawgyi Paya

The big stupa was towering in the abandoned area

Shot in Thayekhittaya, an ancient site about 5 miles east of Pyay.

The architecture in the photo is a stupa and called Bawbawgyi Paya. It was built at the edge of the territory to protect by the force of Buddhism. Now it stands alone in the deserted landscape which prospered once.
