There was a dense concentration of housing in the area where I was wandering around. Despite its location near Yangon Central Station, there was no urban atmosphere anywhere to be seen. There was a peaceful residential area.
I was walking along narrow alleys that stretched across the gap between the houses. Most of the houses were modest and small, but some of them were large. Although most of the residents here do not appear to be affluent, there must be some differences between the rich and the poor. I stopped in front of a relatively large house.
The house was a two-story wooden structure with a large open window on the second floor. A woman was standing by the window. People were coming and going in front of the house, and the woman, with her face out the window, was watching the traffic from above. The house was in a residential area where there was nothing in particular going on. The scene the woman was looking at must have been something she was used to seeing on a daily basis. Even so, the woman continued to watch the traffic with interest, holding her finger to her face.
