Many street vendors were doing business side by side in the street along the small Kurashiki river. They displayed their articles for sale on the ground. Because there was nothing to avoid the sunlight, some stalls had an umbrella to make the sunshade. They were suspended from the trees and looked like as if they were floating in the air.
The scenery seemed to be surreal. And the umbrella reminded me a picture painted by René Magritte.
