Window With Thick Lattice On Namako Wall

Window on old fashioned wall

There were many old architectures in Bikan Historical Quarter

Shot at Bikan historical quarter in Kurashiki, Okayama.

Many traditional architectures were preserved in this area. When I walked the narrow lanes flanked by the old buildings, I felt as if I became a time traveler. Because this area was a tourist attraction, these architectures were well fixed. The namako wall in front of me was painted with the plaster and spotless clean.

The wall was tiled. And a window with thick lattice was built. It was said that this kind of wall had a protective effect on the fire protection.
