It was raining lightly in Dhaka. The streets of the city, which are even more crowded than usual, were even more crowded than usual. The street I was walking on was also crowded with pedestrians, cycle rickshaws, and bicycles. Some of them were man-powered trucks with the backs of tricycles, a familiar sight in India. Everyone was wriggling on the rain-soaked streets. What is different from Japan is that people holding umbrellas are in the minority. I wondered if umbrellas are a bit expensive in Bangladesh, as cheap plastic umbrellas do not yet exist in Bangladesh.
