Suddenly, I was asked about my nationality when I was about to buy the ticket of the passenger ferry. It was uncommon to be asked about such a thing. So I thought why I was asked. After a short while, I discerned the reason. Because the vessel's body was purchased under the auspices of the Japanese government, the Japanese citizens could board the ferry free of charge. I knew it was a gesture of goodwill from Burmese authority. Yet I wondered how many Japanese came here and crossed the river by this ferry.
Before long, the passenger ferry finished crossing and was docked at the landing on the opposite side. When the gate was open, many passengers started to disembark at the same time. I watched the flow of the passengers from above. Most of them walked empty-handed. Yet I saw some people carried burdens. Anyway, the landing bridge was so crowded.
