The market aisles where vegetables were sold were littered with them. The situation was not flattering. Will someone eventually clean up the mess? Or will they just be left there? India is a Hindu country where the caste system still exists. The job of selling vegetables and the job of cleaning up garbage are divided into different jati (classes), and the same person may rarely do both. Well, it may simply be a difference in the sense of cleanliness from Japan.
