The bookstore, run by a proofreading company, had both a cafe and a gallery

Although I was a little disheartened to find that what I thought was a bookstore had turned into a lifestyle store, I regained my composure and headed for another bookstore nearby. I was afraid that this bookstore might have disappeared as well, but it was still in existence.

The bookstore I was aiming for had been in business since I used to live in the Waseda area. It used to be an ordinary bookstore, but it has been transformed into a fashionable bookstore with a coffee shop corner. According to the official website, "a proofreading company specializing in book reviews" took over the bookstore when the old-fashioned bookstore closed.

The bookstore is bustling with activity. The bookstore that was renovated from a warehouse and opened by Shinchosha, one of Japan's largest publishers, is no longer in business, but the bookstore run by the proofreading company continues to operate. A publisher and a proofreading company. Although they are equally involved in books, they seem to have had very different senses of running a bookstore.
