Smoke And Woman

Old woman holding incense-burner-like container

The old woman held a kind of container

Shot in the city of Zaachila, Mexico.

The parade arrived at an open space. The float which was carried by the attendants was placed in the center of the space. Then older woman knelt in prayer in front of a statue. Smoke curled out from what she had in her hand. It looked like an incense burner.

She started to talk to the statue. I couldn't understand what she said nor what kind of ceremony it was. Maybe she prayed for a good harvest. The only thing I could say was that the place was wrapped with the ceremonial atmosphere.
