People were lined up in front of the church. It was a festival, and everyone seemed to be parading from here through the town of Zaachila. As a passerby, I had no idea what kind of festival it was. What caught my interest, however, was that among the people in line was a boy dressed as a girl and riding on stilts. That is the boy in the photo.
Because the parade started from the church, this festival must have some kind of Christian connection. But I don't know what kind of festival it is, and I don't know why the boy is dressed as a girl and riding on stilts. There are so many things I don't understand.
After a while, a band and mariachi took up positions at the head of the procession and began to play. Then the parade began to move and parade through the town.
