In the middle of the approach to the main hall, a big incense burner was placed. Every worshipers called into the burner before they entered into the main hall. Some people bought the incense sticks and put them into the burner. The smoke was shooting up from it. And those who went around was basking the smoke.
By the way, to offer the incense stick means holding a service for a departed soul in Buddhism.
