The connecting corridor that stretches alongside the platform of Shibuya Station on the Ginza Line leads into Shibuya Hikarie. I realized that I could go from the Inokashira Line ticket gates to Hikarie only by the connecting passage. While it is convenient, it is like a maze. I had to bypass the suggestive JR ticket gates and walk up and down the stairs while looking sideways at the show windows of Shibuya Scramble Square to reach the last connecting passage. The redevelopment of Shibuya shows no signs of being over yet. It's already a labyrinth in the middle of the project, so I wonder what kind of town it will be when all the redevelopment is completed. Personally, I think it would be wonderful if the city became a three-dimensional maze-like the old city of Morocco, where you can easily get lost.
It's hard to get anywhere without getting lost. It would be nice to have such a town. The world is eager to improve efficiency in many ways, but it would be interesting to have something inefficient around the station. I think that would attract more people and make the town of Shibuya vibrant again. Hooray for inefficiency!
