Do you know the difference between a shopping mall and a department store? The difference between a department store and a shopping mall is that a department store is categorized as a retailer, while a shopping mall is categorized as a real estate business. In other words, the business of a department store is to sell goods to customers, while the business of a shopping mall is to rent out stores in the mall to tenants. No matter how big the building is or how large the site is, if there are small stores lined up inside, there is a high possibility that it is a shopping mall.

With that in mind, the large building I passed in Cirebon was a shopping mall. When I entered, I found a row of small stores, which looked like a three-dimensional shopping mall. There was nothing that caught my attention, so I took a quick look around and went outside, where I saw a man with a stern face standing there. His sharp gaze was aimed straight at me.

This man was the driver of a bicycle cab called Becak. He was waiting for someone to come out of the shopping mall. That's when I arrived. He was expecting me to get straight into his Becak. I could feel the anticipation in his gaze. But I wouldn't lose. Without getting into the man's Becak, I returned to Jalan Siliwangi, where I had been walking until a while ago.
