Many roses are grown at the French-style garden in Shinjuku Gyoen. There were many different coloured roses in bloom. It's not just the colours. Each rose has its own name. To me, an outsider, they all look like "roses", but each one is a different kind. I couldn't tell the difference even when I looked closely. How many different kinds of roses are there in the world?
I spotted one of them. Its supple petals are curled up. It looks soft and delicious. On closer inspection, I could also see that the petals had veins running through them.
