The only people walking around this open-air market were locals. Indeed, all that was on sale was fresh food, and there was nothing that a tourist would be tempted to buy because of the atmosphere of the destination. If you are looking for something like that, you should go to Bogyoke Aung San Market, the most famous market in Yangon. There you will find a wide range of goods for tourists, from souvenirs that are worthy of buying to things that you will regret buying. There is nothing of the sort here. The atmosphere was that of a commoner.

It was rare to see people walking around dressed up. Workers and shoppers came here in their normal clothes. The woman in this photo was one of them, sitting on the edge of the street market with a pink basket, wearing a relatively flashy outfit among the locals. The dress she was wearing was full of colorful polka dots. And her face was covered with a lot of Thanaka. It's not uncommon to see people wearing Thanaka here. Some people apply it all over their face, while others apply it sparingly. This woman was applying it all over her face, like a beauty pack.
