People gathered around the cycle rickshaw looked at me with great interest
As I was walking down the street in Dhaka, a cycle rickshaw pulled up in front of me. The passenger had already sat down on the seat, so the rickshaw driver did not stop to take me on as a customer. The rickshaw driver was not trying to sell me anything. It just stopped.
And so the rickshaw wallah, the passengers, and the boys who were nearby came and looked at me. They were all curious about the strange foreigner. There was nothing hostile in their gazes. I only wondered for a moment if the animals in the cages at the zoo might be like this. I felt at ease and focused on the people who were looking at me with their cameras ready.
