Although Muslims account for only about 9% of the population of Sri Lanka, there seem to be many Muslims living in the old town of Galle. The town of Galle, where ships of Western powers used to come to, may have had many profitable Muslim merchants for a long time.
The man in the photo is also a Muslim. He was wearing an embroidered Islamic cap. The man said he runs a jewelry store here. Come to think of it, Sri Lanka is a jewelry-producing country. When I pointed the camera at him, he leaned against the wall and started staring off into the distance.
