A large pond is placed in the middle of Rikugien, which was a daimyo's garden, and a stream flows into it. Therefore, bridges have been built across the brook. The Togetsu Bridge is one of these bridges. From the name, I thought that if I visited here at night, I might be able to see the moon reflected on the surface of the water, and I watched the bridge from a distance. This is one of my favourite places in the garden. There are other bridges in the park, but this one is the most beautiful.
As I was looking at the bridge, I saw a man start to cross. Many people stop halfway across the bridge to look at the water, but this man did not stop. Without hesitation, he hurried across the bridge and left.
