Rikugien Garden is a strolling garden located in Honkomagome, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. It is the former residence of YANAGISAWA Yoshiho. It took more than seven years to complete the garden after Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi gave him 47,000 tsubo of land in what was then Komagome, Somei Village, in 1695. The name "Rikugi" is derived from the waka poem "Rikugi" in the introduction to the Kokinsyu.
