Two women in traditional costumes were walking in the square in front of the San Juan Church. In the town of San Juan Chamula, many people, both men and women, wear traditional costumes. It gives people from Asia a very exotic feeling.
I was tempted to take portraits of people in their traditional costumes, but unfortunately, it was difficult. When I approached locals and asked if I could take their photo, they all refused, as if they were in agreement. Only a handful of people allowed me to take their photo in this town.
By the way, the inside of the church in the back of the photo was also off-limits for photography. It seemed that the locals don't like to be photographed.
