The tree of Magnolia was in the garden. Its blossoms were just in flower. And I could see the blue sky through the branches.
This garden was built by Thomas Blake Glover, who was a Scotch merchant. He came to Japan in 1859 and lived in this country until he died in 1911. His residence is now open to public as a park. It is said that he dealt raw silk and tea along with weapon at the time of the Meiji Restoration. He could be a shrewd person. So he could create a fortune.
