There are many temples in the old town of Luang Prabang. As I was walking along the wall of one of them, three schoolchildren came walking from the other side. It must have been just time for them to finish school. They seemed to be on their way home together, moving closer and further apart.
The girl in the lead was wearing a sinh, the traditional Laotian costume. But the two boys in the back were dressed normally. Inside the fence, I could see the magnificent main building of the temple, but the three of them seemed uninterested in it. The temple, interesting to me as a gentile, was probably nothing more than a familiar sight to the children born and raised in the area.
