While walking through the town of Nasik, I came across three girls and two boys leaving school in good company. They wore matching uniforms with checkered patterns, so they must be in the same school. The girls were all wearing their hair in pigtails. I wonder if it's a school rule.
In India, it is common to see adults driving children to and from school. Not only parents but also rickshaw wallahs of cycle rickshaws, who are probably commissioned to pick up and drop off children. For this reason, I thought that in India, children do not go to and from school alone.
However, it seems that the school these children attend is different. As you can see in the photo, the children go to and from school by themselves, without an adult accompanying them. They may be children who live near the school, though.
