The young man in the dark red tank top was standing in a corner of the market. In front of the young man were several large bags, containing potatoes and onions. He seemed to be selling these. India can be said to be the “birthplace of curry”. It is a symbolic sight to see potatoes and onions, which I consider standard ingredients of curry, being sold in a market of that country. At the same time, the fact that Japanese curry is completely different from Indian curry (although the recently popular spice curry is Indian-style) also comes to mind. I wonder if potato and onion are standard curry ingredients in India. When I visit India, I spend many days eating curry, but I am not sure if potatoes and onions are included in it. I wasn't sure if potatoes and onions are also a staple in Indian curries.
