The dimly lit alley was flanked on both sides by high walls. The alley was quiet, with no sound of life leaking out. It was as quiet as if the place was abandoned. There were no windows where laundry was hung out to dry, and it was difficult to sense any sign of life when looking around. Where do the locals hang their laundry?
As I walked down the alley, I saw someone walking ahead of me. But the man turned a corner and I was left alone in the alley.
