The old quarter called Fez El Bali was still surrounded by the walls and there were arched gates in spots. Some gates were tall, but it wasn't large in width. They reminded me a pop-hole for small animals.
The gate in the photo was one of them. People came and went in an endless stream. It might not be closed anymore these days. Two square minarets of two mosques were seen in the other side of the gate.
