I was standing at the entrance and exit of the main hall of Senso-ji Temple. One after another, people were disappearing into the main hall to pray, and one after another, people were coming out of the main hall after finishing their prayers. The people who had finished their prayers all looked refreshed. Looking at such a scene, I felt as if the main hall was a machine that swallowed people one after another, changed their faces into a clean one, and then kept spitting them out.
However, it seems that not everyone can always be changed into a clean face. I looked up and saw a girl in the crowd of people who had finished their prayers. She came out of the main hall with a flower in her hand and a somewhat anxious look on her face. The ability to change cleanly was not working. Seeing the girl scurrying around made me realize that no matter how faithful and powerful the main hall is, there are times when it is not possible to change her face to a clean one.
