Although I enjoy visiting shrines and temples and have been to many different shrines in Tokyo, this was my first visit to Igusa Hachimangu Shrine. Surrounded by a residential area, the forest of Igusa Hachimangu Shrine is large and is said to be one of the largest in Tokyo. It is often said that there is not much greenery in Tokyo, but as I walked through these woods, I could not help but be deeply moved by the fact that there is such abundant nature even in Tokyo.
As I walked leisurely, I saw a family ahead of me. Beyond them stood the imposing tower gate, flanked by trees. The family was walking slowly toward the gate.
