There were food stalls at the intersection near the hotel where I was staying in Bangkok, and they were quite busy. Although there were food stalls, all they sold were noodles. It was a bit disappointing. Noodles are delicious, and there is a wide variety of them in Thailand. However, I personally prefer to eat rice dishes. Unfortunately, there are not many food stalls that serve rice dishes. It is hard to find rice dishes unless you go to at least a restaurant or an eating place.
In addition to food stalls, there are also stalls selling second-hand clothes and junk. It is interesting to note that even in the same place, there are different stores operating at different times of the day. A place that was a used clothing store during the day may be a noodle stall after dark.
The woman in the photo is one of the workers at such a street corner. She was sitting in the shadow of a used clothing store. She had a bucket on her lap and was busily working on something, apparently preparing food. The noodle stall that appeared after the used clothing store in the foreground closed may have been run by this woman. When I pointed my camera at her, she seemed embarrassed and averted her gaze. But her shy smile was adorable.
