Walking through the street where some restaurants doing business, I entered a residential district. As I heard, there was a residential quarter just near Yangon central station. Small dwellings stood side by side. The children were playing around and the women were busy with housework. Although the district was at a short distance from the railway tracks, no sound of trains was heard. The tranquil atmosphere wafted and it made the area like a small village on the outskirt of the city.
Walking around the lanes between the dwellings, I met the woman in this photo. A chair was placed on the concrete-covered ground. And she sat on it. What she did was washing laundries. A laundry, laundry soap, and a scrub brush were seen in front of her. The washing laundries were done by hand work here.
