Dialogue Between Masks

Two men wearing a mask were on the stage

There is a stage in the precinct of this shrine. It is used for 'Noh'. Noh is a major form of classic Japanese musical drama and dedicated to the deities. Because a festival was held in the precinct, the play was put on the stage at the time of visiting.

Two men wearing a mask were standing on the stage. Their masks were horrible. I thought the expressions expressed that they were unworldly. One of them looked at another man who had an arrow and a bow in his hand with surprising look.
