Many children were playing along with worshippers in the precincts of the Buddhist temple called Botataung Paya, which stands on the banks of the Yangon River. This Buddhist temple is one of the main attractions of sightseeing in Yangon, along with Shwedagon Paya and Sule Paya, but it is not only a place of worship but also a playground for local children. The children in the photo were among those playing in the temple grounds.

The reason the children are barefoot is because everyone has to take off their shoes on the temple grounds. Of course, I was barefoot when I took the photo.
