A boy who was playing in an alley in central Yangon found me wandering around with a camera and came up to me. He looked shy, but when he stood in front of me, he looked straight at the camera.
Judging from his face, the boy looked Indian, but a closer look at the T-shirt he was wearing showed that he had Chinese characters written on his chest. Since Myanmar was part of the British Raj, there were many people of Indian descent, and like other cities in Southeast Asia, there were many overseas Chinese in Myanmar. And there is a boy of Indian descent wearing a T-shirt with Chinese characters written on it. Although India and China are not in the same boat, they may be blending in well in Yangon.
