The Olympic Park in Komazawa, as the name suggests, is a comprehensive sports ground built for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In addition to the stadium, there is a gymnasium, an indoor ball field, and a baseball field, making it quite spacious. During World War II, it was used as an air defense green space and farmland in case of air raids, but before that it was a golf course, which makes sense. This is where the Tokyo Golf Club, the first golf course in Tokyo, was located. Nowadays, it is difficult to find any remnants of a golf course in the park. That is why this park has the appearance of a well-maintained park in an urban area.
Near the parking lot facing Komazawa-dori, a loop leads to the central plaza, which is a little higher than the street. The loop was so large that a car could pass through it. It closely reminded me of the loop attached to the parking lot of the miniature cars I played with as a child. As I was picturing the cars gliding along the loop, a bicycle appeared out of nowhere and went quickly down the loop.
