Paya Gyi Pagoda Wrapped With The Scaffolding

Pagoda under refit

The Paya Gyi Pagoda was just under refit and wrapped by the scaffolding

Shot at Paya Gyi Pagoda in Pyay, Myanmar.

The architecture in the photo was a Pagoda which was built around the 7th century. At the time of visiting, it was just being repaired. The pagoda which achieved a height of 48 meters was wrapped with the scaffolding made with bamboos. And a small figure of a man was climbing the stairway while he was carrying a plastic container. He seemed to a laborer working at this site.

After several years since I visited, the site was registered as a World Heritage Site.
